Everything. Comfy bed, clean, warm, great kitchen with top appliances, washing machine and dryer, clothes horse. Great stuff like milk, butter, tea, coffee, jam etc supplied. Needed a day of rest after Cradle Mountain and watched all the streaming channels on the TV. Close to shops, fuel and 2 minutes to the harbour. Very quiet too.

Really enjoyed doing the Gordon River Heritage Cruise, it was informative and so much wonderful things you wouldn't get to see if you didn't do it. The Captain and staff were lovely and it was a really relaxing day. Highly recommend visiting the Huon Pine Historic Mill and shops as well. The town itself is very small and seems to be run mostly by a few families. So not a lot of restaurant or cafe options. I found the Strahan Village buffet restaurant 42 Degrees that was touted as the gourmet option in town as very average for the price.

Strahan is worth visiting for the Gordon River Cruise and the play, The Ship That Never Was. There is a small nature walk to a small waterfall that is an easy walk. There is a small beach just outside of town as well. Dining options are limited, suggest View 42 buffet, reservations required.

Strahan was a quaint little town with not an awful lot to see and do, but what there is, is worth the visit. We had only the one full day in Strahan - for the river cruise (stayed in town for 2 nights): if we had the time again, we’d allow a second day for local sight-seeing and the train ride. We were exceptionally fortunate with the weather, making the day cruise truly memorable, including some absolutely beautiful scenery and a fascinating tour of the convict settlement on Sarah Island.
Unfortunately, the seafood buffet at ‘View 42 Degrees’ was fully booked out, so we’d advise phoning ahead for that!
We weren’t entirely sure if we’d visit Strahan as part of our Tasmania trip as it was a little ‘out of our way’: we are now glad that we made the effort!

We loved everything we did in Strahan - from staying in the King Suite in the Wilderness Lodge, to the World Heritage Cruise on the Gordon River, The Ship That Never Was play, Hogarth Falls and sunsets over the water on Beach Rd.
The locals were fanatastic too - do yourself a favour and go there !

p it is one of those amazing experiences you never regret there is alot to do in this tiny town don't rush around Tassie you will miss too much ps Don't stay Big 4 and book all tours early Go to the Wall at Derwent Bridge to see a true artist we were with a wheelchair and everyone was great except Big 4
Beautiful location. Like Anne of Green Gables cottage on a hill overlooking beautiful Strahan. Picturesque. Quiet. Beautiful location. Friendly beautiful managers. Gardens stunning and immaculate. So many places to walk and sit and relax. Sun loungers to read on. Every little detail thought of . Shiwer brilliant , bed the best so far in Tasmania travel, beautiful seats to sit in and read. Loved every minute. Would have stayed longer. Will recommend to all friends and family
Terry and Rose were great hosts and most friendly. They know the area and give good advice. Terry gives a great talk of the history of the house and family. Strahan is not big so the house is in walking distance of most things. They offer a continental breakfast, it is not small so is more than enough to set you up for the day until lunch. Make sure you go up stairs to see the little history of the house.
Arrived later than expected. The lovely lady who runs big4 helpful and very informative about any questions we had. Travel with 2 adult children and the set up was just perfect. Clean and well looked after property with everything you could want just across the quiet road. Would recommend the property to anyone couples family travelling too Strahan
amazing house with heaps of space, fantastic views across Macquarie Harbour and only a couple of minutes to Strahan. Our girls loved the outdoor play equipment and rated it as their favourite place to stay in all of Tasmania! Susan was also amazing and gave great information about the area and restaurants! 😀
Great location easy access to the ferry and the play with a lovely stop in the pub. Easy access to the falls walk. A night walk to the train. We dined at Risby Cove restaurant both nights, food and staff excellent. They did everything they could to make our stay comfortable.
Nice and clean & cosy place to stay heating was good for rainy cold nights & days. Beds were comfy. Although it is not on the water front but not too far away if you wanted to walk. We had a great stay for a short 2 nights it suited our family of 4 well. We would stay again
Spacious, warm, well equipped for self catering, comfortable and Vicky was a superb host both friendly, helpful and informative. Quick response to any question. Location was quiet and had a lovely view across the harbour.
We would definitely return if re-visiting Strahan
Beautifully quaint holiday cottages, set in gorgeous gardens, that were very cosy & comfortable inside with everything you need. The bed was comfy & it was in a lovely quiet location that was very close to everything & ideal for our needs for a two night stay.
Very impressive renovated, historic property in beautiful surroundings. Very friendly and helpful staff member. Breakfast was a delight with lovely pastries. Well located in Strahan for wandering around town and walking to the falls.
Was within walking distance to the supermarket and down the hill to the Visitors Centre, Red boat cruise and the hotel.
Spacious area in the living room.
Excellent breakfast basket with enough for 4 and leftovers.
Very comfortable cottage outside the main centre of Strahan. Very good cooking facilities and heating via the gas fire place effective. Other cottages on the block are a bit run down and don't seem to be in use.
Loved the style and design, perfectly curated to suit the location. Wish more Tasmania accomodation was at this level! The location was close to everything but you do need a car in Strahan. Highly recommend.
The room was very clean and had everything needed . I appreciated the view from the room onto Strahan village . I loved the heater and the host left a complementary breakfast basket ! Thank you
It was so quiet and serene.
The family of ducks were gorgeous.
The seal playing in the harbour was great entertainment.
A lovely peaceful place not far from the restaurants etc in Strahan
Wonderful location, great for family. The two toilets was a definite bonus with six adults and two children! The kids and grandparents alike loved the table tennis table!
We had a great room and lovely view from our room overlooking the port and the harbour.Short walk to the Strahan Village, also had a parking space for our car.
