Was unsure at first, once settled in, met friendly occupants at the time of stay, Some of them were there for the same reason I was. Very close to the city area and shopping facilities. Was convenient for where I needed to get too. If given a refurbishment, this could be a really great stay in, looking forward to seeing improvements in the near future.

Great place to stay.
Not far from our accomadation we had great restaurants. Vietnamese/ Thai/Greek/ Italian and Indian all on one intersection and a German Bavarian 500 mtr walk as well.
The river walk is great and we bicycled the 20km bike track along main beach and the river.

We didn’t stay in Mackay, but chose to stay at the Dolphin Heads Resort about 10kms out of Mackay. A very picturesque beach, there is an amazing old pub on the headland with the most beautiful view. We had dinner at the Resort Restaurant, and a very comfortable, quiet and enjoyable one night stay at the Resort. Well priced and the staff were welcoming and friendly. We will indeed stay there again and recommend this place to all.

We didn't plan to stay at Mackay, it was the final stop of our road trip and that's where the airport was. Airport only 10 minutes' drive from centre of Mackay, where we stayed in a motel. Plenty of restaurants nearby. The Lagoon area is lovely and very quiet on a weekday when we were there. We walked the Lagoon trail which was pleasant but much longer than anticipated as not very clear signing after you had reached the bridge over the Pioneer River. We should have just taken Sydney Rd back to town but ended up along the river and at the ocean at Iluka Park. Then another 2km into town. Great shopping centre in middle of town. We visited Cape Hillsborough and stayed three nights as it was so awesome. Trails to walk, great beach, wildlife. We saw a goanna, lots of birds, smaller skinks and of course the kangaroos at dawn. Visited Sarina Sugar Shed, which was very interesting after passing all the cane fields.

On checking in, we were given a room on level 1, with no view. The street noise was almost unbearable. We requested a change and the staff kindly moved us to a river facing room. The view was lovely, but to be honest this accommodation is sold as river frontage. It is in actual fact a block away from the River with large buildings obscuring the view. The location is perfectly central though with great accessibility to shopping. We recommend that upon booking your accommodation, to ensure what type of room you will be placed into.

I did visit a beach don't know it's name.
I did visit a beach don't know it's name. Very clean and appealing lots of trees and some birds. It was low tide and sand which I walked out on right out into the ocean. The place was busy for a city but you can get around reasonably easy. Been here before. Marina great to see. Biotanic gardens worth seeing. City centre nice to walk around. Worth coming here for a look.

Beautiful city it would be a must to have a car to get around as it very spread out or be comfortable on public transport however then you would miss out on some great beaches or lookouts a car is highly recommended.
The place has been refurbished as its a older building definitely noticeable and more appealing to all other motels around central location. Clean The cleaning staff are very welcoming and friendly and the main manager guy at reception has exceptional customer service skills and was so eager to welcome us and tell us about mackay and all of the hotels facilities!
The manager made my stay as stress free as possible. She bought me grocery items that were waiting in my room on my late evening arrival. She was able to give me information about local attractions and eating places and even offered to take me to the airport at 0530 if my taxi did not arrive on time. I was made to feel welcome and a valued visitor to her hotel
This place has potential so lets hope the new managers are up for the challenge to get this place back to it's former glory.
Staff were friendly.
OK value for a 2 bedroom apartment in Mackay (Glad I got a discount through booking.com though because not great value if paying full price)
I really enjoyed my stay at Oaks Mackay Rivermarque Hotel because it was clean, beds were comfortable, room smelt really fresh & the staff was very friendly. Plus, it's close to everything eg.Canelands shopping centre, CBD, 5 min drive to the harbour etc 👍😊
It was an okay for value as this was the cheapest in Mackay for this time. Definitely an older park but did what it needed to do for us. The freebies at reception were a great touch aswell. Definitely need those mossies candles
Location was close to a great shopping centre, and the heart of town, lots of eateries & restaurants, we were on the wrong side of hotel for a view, but rooftop allowed us to look over the Pioneer River, Room was beautiful.
Great location and close to city centre. Very comfortable bed and a very generous continental breakfast is included. Absolutely great value for money if you're looking for an overnight stay while travelling through Mackay.
Vary awesome place, all very convenient, spacious room, very quiet and accessible.
Just need to fix the hot water for bath.
Great communication with hotel.
Stay at lots of places in Mackay and this will be our favourite
All as you would expect from a quality corporate hotel. Good wifi and big tv. Magnifying mirror was nice to have in bathroom. Make time to visit murals in nearby alley. Bus to airport leaves from out the front of Hotel.
The hotel was located a short drive from the CBD. The room was a good size, comfortable and clean. The staff were pleasant, helpful and very friendly in that typical north Queensland fashion.
location, size of the room and amenities and decor. Even though the hotel is right next to the airport, the room was still really quiet and we could not hear anything at all from outside.
The Motel is old but clean and tidy. It is a short walking distance to the City Heart and Caneland Central Shopping Centre. It is next door to the Hot Wok Restaurant.
This hotel is amazing. The rooms are large, clean and comfortable for a family. Close to beaches and Caneland Shopping Center. Will definitely go there again.
The room had everything we needed. Just had to cross the road for a very nice meal at a hotel. Situated on the main road so easy in and easy out of the city.
