The nicest part of Devonport was along the river and to the beach. The headland walk from the Surf Club and to the lighthouse was beautiful. The cafe at the Devonport Surf Club was really nice, the staff were very friendly and the coffee was excellent - 10/10.

We liked everything about Devonport.
We liked everything about Devonport. We had an evening meal at the Argosy and lunch at Banjos in the mall. Finding places around Devonport was easy and parking was very good. Lovely views of the Mersey River and beaches from lots of areas. The Antique Emporium and garden centres were excellent.

We love visiting Devonport.
We love visiting Devonport. It is a clean, tidy town and has all the facilities we need. It is also a great point to go out to places from, for example Tasmazia, Chudleigh, towns and beaches along the northern coast of Tasmania just to name a few.

We based ourselves in Devonport as we were visiting the coast area there We did travel south to do a bit of site seeing about Hobart etc. We travelled over and back on the Ferry which was a short 5 minute drive.
You can see most of the coast attractions an easy 45 minute drive from Devonport. Tasmania has excellent playgrounds for kids
The receptionist and staff on duty are very warm, friendly and helpful. Since we had a long time to spend in Devonport before embarking on our ferry to Geelong, the receptionist advised us to drive to La Trobe. It's a most charming small town with the best gift shop in the world, named the Reliquery. You must not miss this lil town and gift shop. Besides, the hotel's location is so near to the Spirit of Tasmania pier. We had no problems taking our car into the ferry to Geelong. Thank you so much Gateway staff and management
The breakfast provided was fantastic from fresh local eggs Bacon beautiful freshly baked bread Selection of Muesli and Juice was the perfect way to start the day of Adventure. The location was just far enough away from the main town to enjoy peace and quiet but close enough to walk if you so desired and the History of the building added that extra charm.
Its the details that Yvonne and Glen have provided that make this stay exceptional thank you!
The location was perfect. We liked the privacy & the fact you were a sharing a kitchen & bathroom cause you weren't feeling that isolated but had a lot of privacy. The price was very affordable & impressive for what you got. The surroundings of nature & animals was tastefully available if you like nature and we would recommend this place to other couples.
It's on the edge of Devonport, but the road system is easy to navigate. Neighbourhood was quiet. We hadn't really realised the "retro" look, but the facilities are modern with retro touches like a pinball machine and arcade game. Cabinet full of old games and Meccano!
Older style but adequate motel room. Clean and comfortable with renovated bathroom. Short (<5 mins) to ferry terminal. Easy drive to Devonport shopping mall.
Pub with excellent food at good prices and bottle shop attached to the motel.
Very good value for money.
Great location, 10 minutes from the ferry terminal and near Devonport main town as well. A good collection of restaurants etc. in the area. Good facilities and clean room. Great view of the Spirit from the room window. Would certainly book again.
Very clean and comfortable hotel in a central location. Beds were comfortable and it has all the facilities. Ordered dinner and breakfast for room service which was quick and the food was very good. Staff were very friendly.
Amazingly perfect views. The best hotel we've stayed at in our lives.
Stay in the seaview room on hillside, there's no toilet but it's worth it.
Some of the other rooms with toilets face the carpark so it's not so great.
Rose cottage had everything we needed for our stay over in Devonport. It was clean and tidy and close to everything. Ben was very approachable and responded quickly to us. Would certainly recommend staying here.
A great location, with a wonderful view over the Mersey River and a short 5 minute drive to the heart of Devonport. Minimal traffic noise ... nothing at night. Highly recommended.
I was very happy with space was amazing he had a great facilities it was really peaceful with far was extremely relaxing I would recommend this place to anyone
We loved the decor and feel of this heritage hotel. Very friendly owners. Lovely cooked breakfast. It was within walking distance of central Devonport.
